For families rearing children with learning differences, teaching them to embrace their differences can be tricky. For help, we turn to the experts.

Venus Beulah is a registered mental health counselor at The Counseling and Wellness Center at Beacon College in Leesburg, Fla., and an alumna of the college.

Monica Barreto, Ph.D., is a Clinical Child Psychologist in practice with Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. Dr. Barreto is experienced in providing clinical interventions to address the complex needs of children and families exposed to a variety of medical and behavioral conditions. Dr. Barreto earned her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan, with specialty training in child and pediatric psychology. She completed a clinical child psychology internship at Yale University, Yale Child Study Center, and a pediatric psychology fellowship through the Yale Child Study Center, Yale School of Medicine.
