In The Know | Individualized Education Plans

In the learning differences arena, parents often bob in a sea of acronyms. IDEA, or the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. FAPE, or Free and Appropriate Public Education. And LRE, or Least Restrictive Environment. Yet, the most impactful acronym, one that serves as the North Star guiding children who learn differently to either successful or failed academic experiences is the IEP, or Individualized Education Program. That bit of alphabet soup forms the legal basis for parents to secure the special education services their children need at school.
